Q & A With Owner of On Point Plumbing & Gas Ltd, Ryan Glover
How did you come up with the idea to start On Point Plumbing & Gas Ltd and what purpose did you intend to serve with the concept?
We started On Point Plumbing in January 2016. As a plumbing technician, I was tired of working for companies that didn't want to create value for clients; these companies would rather have us try and upsell plumbing-related items to the clients to generate more revenue for the company - even though it was not necessary to do so. As for myself, I've always been a social butterfly and really enjoy educating our customers on every service call we take. Creating that customer relationship is the most valuable thing we can commit to.
What services or products does your company offer, and in which locations are these offered?
We offer 24/7 emergency plumbing & gas-fitting services, includingBWV (back water valve) installations, HWT (hot water tanks) serving, upgrades and replacements, drain cleaning and scooping, and boiler maintenance, repairs and replacements. We serve Edmonton, Alberta and surrounding areas.
How did you come up with the idea to start On Point Plumbing & Gas Ltd and what purpose did you intend to serve with the concept?
As a small, family-run business, we never expected to win any type of accolades of any kind. It just goes to show that we have very strong customer support for our business, given we were awarded the 2021 Top Choice Award for Best Plumbing Service company in Edmonton and the surrounding area. We were over the moon to accept this honour!
Then we won it again - the 2022 Top Choice Award. For two years in a row, we have beaten our competitors, which are the BIG companies.
Which steps have you taken for the company to achieve the level of consumer trust that has been nationally recognized?

Which strategies have you found the most effective in growing your audience/ bringing awareness of your service to a larger consumer group?
Networking has been our biggest source of business. We have been in business for six years, and do very little to no paid advertising. We have social media outlets to showcase projects being worked on and educational videos on do's and don'ts with your day-to-day plumbing.

We love to partner with like-minded trades professionals, such as other plumbing companies, HVAC companies, property management companies, and home service professionals.
