The story of Autumn Brockman and her rise as a beauty industry leader is anything but conventional. A native of Vernon, TX, near Wichita Falls, Brockman moved to San Angelo in the mid-1990s to attend Angelo State University, originally with the goal of becoming a nurse practitioner. Her aim was to help others. However, along the way, she discovered a different calling - her exceptional talent as a makeup artist.
“I wanted to help people, and I found that beauty was another way to do that,”
Brockman explains. Her passion and artistry soon garnered attention, and by the late 1990s, she was making waves not only in Texas but also in Los Angeles, where she worked as both a makeup artist and a model.
Her talents were showcased in major magazines such as Maxim, FHM, and Street Customs, and she contributed her expertise to high-profile ad campaigns, including Go Daddy commercials. Despite her growing success in the entertainment industry, Brockman remained grounded and committed to her vision. In 2008, she earned her cosmetology degree from Odessa College and, by 2013, was ready to establish her own business back in West Texas.
Building the ARock Brand in San Angelo
When Brockman opened ARock Beauty & Wellness in 2013, she was determined to bring the cutting-edge style and creative energy of Los Angeles to San Angelo. Starting with a small rented space at a local spa, she quickly built a loyal clientele by offering bold, innovative services.

By 2016, ARock had grown large enough to open its own dedicated salon, and by 2018, the business had expanded into a 4,800-square-foot facility in downtown San Angelo. It also gave her a platform to support young stylists. In 2024, ARock Beauty & Wellness took its success to the next level by launching its franchising system, allowing others to bring the ARock experience to new locations.
Brockman actively recruits top talent from across West Texas, often discovering them through social media. She sublets space in her salon to these handpicked stylists, mentoring them to build their own client bases and develop their skills.
